An IoT project has two halves. The hardware half takes the reading; the software half decides whether anyone ever acts on it. We build the second half — and we are direct about the first, because a monitoring system is only as good as the hardware's ability to report in a form software can read.

What are IoT solutions?

IoT (Internet of Things) solutions connect physical devices and sensors to software, so readings taken in the real world — temperature, count, level, location, machine state — are recorded, displayed and acted on automatically. The software side is the part that collects the readings, shows them, raises alerts and passes them to business systems.

Do you supply the hardware as well as the software?

We build the software side: data collection, dashboards, alerts, reporting and integration. Where hardware is needed we work alongside your supplier or integrator rather than claiming to manufacture devices, and we confirm during the requirement study that the hardware you have can expose its readings in a form software can read.

What happens when a device loses connection?

Two things have to be handled and both are part of the build: readings buffer where the device supports it and are sent once the link returns, and the system itself detects that a device has stopped reporting and raises that as an alert. A monitoring system that silently shows stale values is worse than none.

Can IoT data connect to our ERP?

Yes, and it is usually where the value is. A reading is interesting; a reading that adjusts a stock figure, opens a maintenance job or updates a production count is operationally useful. We connect device data into the same records the rest of the business works from.

How do we start an IoT project?

With the requirement study, which for IoT focuses on two specific questions: what exactly needs to be measured and decided on, and whether the hardware can expose those readings. Both are answered before anything is quoted, because an IoT project that starts without them tends to discover the constraint late.
