The problem

Quoting relied on an average cost per unit that did not reflect what any particular job consumed. Unprofitable work was subsidised by profitable work and nobody could see which was which.

What we built

We built job-level costing that accumulates material issues, recorded labour and applied overhead against each job, so actual cost is comparable to the quoted price per job.
