Online booking with real-time availability for a vehicle rental

Customers booking online against the same availability the counter sees.

  • Real-time availability search
  • Instant reservation
  • Rate rules by period and category
  • Online deposit payment

The problem

The website took enquiries, not bookings, and staff confirmed availability by phone after checking a separate system. Customers frequently found their requested vehicle was gone by the time anyone called back.

What we built

We built online booking against the live availability position, with the reservation held at the moment of booking rather than after a manual confirmation.

Modules delivered

  • Real-time availability search
  • Instant reservation
  • Rate rules by period and category
  • Online deposit payment
  • Confirmation and reminder emails
  • Counter and online in one system

What changed

What the delivered system does differently from the process it replaced.

  • A booking holds the unit immediately
  • Counter and website read one availability position
  • Enquiry-then-callback is removed from the flow

Why this customer is not named

Most of our customers allow the work to be described but not their name published. Where a customer has given permission, their name and testimonial appear here.

Independent accounts of our work are published by customers themselves on our Facebook reviews page.

Does this look like your problem?

If any of this is familiar, the first step is the same one this project started with: a free requirement study that ends in a written scope and a fixed price.
