Tour and activity booking with capacity limits
Sessions with fixed capacity sold online without overselling.
- Session capacity management
- Channel-agnostic booking
- Checkout holds
- Waitlist
The problem
Seats were sold across a website, a phone line and walk-ins with no shared count, so sessions were regularly oversold and someone had to be turned away at the door.
What we built
We built one capacity position per session that every channel books against, with holds during checkout so concurrent bookings cannot both take the last place.
Modules delivered
- Session capacity management
- Channel-agnostic booking
- Checkout holds
- Waitlist
- Manifest for the day
- Cancellation and refund rules
What changed
What the delivered system does differently from the process it replaced.
- Every channel books against one capacity figure
- Concurrent checkouts cannot oversell the last seat
- The manifest reflects live bookings
